Why Got It Going On?
On May 19, 2003 the song “Stacy’s Mom” was released by Fountains of Wayne. Written by bassist Adam Schlesinger and vocalist Chris Collingwood, “Stacy’s Mom” was inspired by Schlesinger’s friend, who was attracted to Schlesinger’s grandma. The song went on to reach #21 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and gained regular rotation on radio stations and in music video countdown shows on MTV and VH1.
