Why Junkmail Millionaire?
In May of 1995, without thinking he would be successful, Patrick Combs deposited a fake, "non-negotiable" lottery check that he had received as junk mail into his bank account. Through a series of banking errors, the $95,093.35 check cleared. It took the bank a month to figure out their mistake. Combs eventually gave the money back to the bank, but this episode put him on the talk-show circuit, and he went on to write a one man show called "Man 1, Bank 0."
