Why New York Blackout?
On July 13, 1977, multiple lightning strikes caused the entire ConEdison power system in New York City to shut down, resulting in a citywide blackout. By the time the power was restored 25 hours later, arsonists had set more than 1000 fires and looters had ransacked 1600 stores.
