Why Serial Thriller?
Let’s cut to the chase: the Thriller video changed the face of music television. It was not so much a music video as a short film, complete with *actual* Hollywood director (John Landis), a genuine plot, and a fourteen minute run time. Released in December 1983, the iconic short film won a Grammy and legitimized music video production as an art form. It also introduced a new line dance to wedding-reception and nostalgic-80’s-movie mix thanks to choreographer Michael Peters.
