Why Can't Hack the Bars?

February 15, 1995

Kevin Mitnick was arrested by the FBI for hacking into the computers of several major corporations. It was the first case to focus international attention on computer security issues. Kevin began his criminal career at age 12, when he convinced a bus driver to tell him how to get his own ticket punch needed for a “school project.” He began dumpster diving for unused transfer slips and was able to ride buses all over Los Angeles without paying a dime.
