Why Private Peppermint?
The tiny town of Gränna, Sweden claims the honor of being the birthplace of the modern peppermint stick. Created by an enterprising local widow Amalia Eriksson, the sweet, minty confection quickly gained popularity and put Gränna on the map. The recipe for polkagris was kept a secret until Eriksson’s death in 1923 at 99 years of age.
