Terms of Use

(in plain language)

This is the unofficial, plain language version of our Website Terms of Use.

Literally nothing on this page is legally binding because we’re not lawyers.

Specific questions? Get in touch with your Hello Love Fanatic!

(If you want the official, legal-team-approved document, click here for some light reading.)

Acceptance: By using this website you’re agreeing to our Terms of Use. If you don’t want to (or can’t) agree to the Terms you gotta’ stop using this website.

Changes: We might change the Terms. They’re effective as soon as we post them. Sometimes they’re effective as soon as you get notice of a change (before it’s posted).

Check the site periodically so you know if something changed.

Geography: We’re based in the US. The website is made for folks who are based in the US. We’re not on the hook for any website-specific legalities outside the US.

Access: Sometimes we have to do stuff or change stuff on the site itself, which means the site (or parts of it) might become unavailable or restricted. There’s no obligation(s) on our part if that happens, because we don’t control the internet.

Security: The info you provide on this site should comply with our Privacy Policy.

Also, keep your account info safe and let us know ASAP if your account gets hacked or something.

Also also, we can shut your site access down if you violate the Terms.

Intellectual Property Stuff: We own everything on this site. You can use a whole bunch of it, but you don’t have any rights beyond what we explicitly give you. If you have questions, ask!

Trademarks: You need written permission to use our name, logos, designs, slogans, etc. If you’re a Fanatic or Affiliate you’ll find some of those permissions in the back office all ready and waiting for you.

Prohibition: Don’t be a jerk. Use this website the way it’s meant to be used. If you’re shaky on what that means, there’s a lot of really specific details in the official lawyer-approved version of these Terms.

User Contribution: There’s a whole bunch of interactive stuff available on parts of this website and if you interact we get to use whatever you contribute. In other words, your secret glowing review can totally become front-page-level content.

Monitoring, Enforcement, Termination: Anything you contribute to the site can be removed, or we can refuse to post. If something you contribute is illegal or is stealing the intellectual property or rights of others, that's not okay. We cooperate with law enforcement here.

Also, we’re not obligated to take action on this kind of stuff. We just can if we decide to.

Content Standards: Anything you contribute has to be legal. Also, it should be true, helpful, or kind. (All three would be great.) There are specifics about what you shouldn’t post in our official terms and conditions document.

But if you stick with legal, true, helpful, and kind you’ll probably be good.

Reliance on Information: We post information on this site to be helpful to you, and we strive for accuracy, completeness, and usefulness. We don’t guarantee those things, though, so use of the information on this site is at your own risk.

Changes to the Website: Sometimes we update the website, sometimes we don’t. We have no obligations and we’re on no timeline. It’s a very healthy relationship.

Info About You: We collect information about our users and how they use the site and we have a whole privacy policy that governs it. By using the site, you agree to the stuff in our privacy policy.

Online Purchases and Other Terms: We have this whole retail policy (Terms of Sale) that governs stuff like services, products, purchases, etc. All that is part of this site’s Terms and Conditions. (You should read it sometime; it’s fascinating stuff.)

Linking to the Website: You can link to our site from your own but you gotta’ do it in a way that is fair and legal and doesn’t give us a bad rep. Also please don’t mess with the link so that it frames our site in a way we don’t intend, or goes somewhere other than the homepage.

Links from the Website: We might provide links out to other sites, for your convenience only. We don’t have control over the content of other sites.

Disclaimer of Warranties: Using literally anything on the web comes with some inherent risks. We can’t guarantee that things like viruses or hackers will never target our site. You’re using our site “as is” and “as available” and we don’t provide warranties about any of it.

Limitation on Liability: We’re not liable for most things. There’s a big list of them in the official version of this document.

“Most things” doesn't apply to gross negligence, willful misconduct, death, or bodily injury. Just so we’re clear.

Indemnification: You agree to hold us harmless, defend us, and compensate us for harm or loss if you violate the Terms of Use or misuse the website.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction: We operate out of the city of Rancho Mission Viejo, county of Orange, in the state of California so that’s the default jurisdiction place and by using our site you agree that you're totally cool with it.

Arbitration: We might do arbitration to settle disputes.

Limitation on Time to File Claims: You have one year.

Waiver and Severability: Waivers are one-time things, not ongoing. And if we don’t assert a right that doesn’t mean we are waiving it.

Entire Agreement: The Terms of Use, Terms of Sale, and Privacy Policy (the official, lawyer-approved ones) are the entire agreement between you and us. Nothing else counts.

Comments and Contact: We operate out of our principal office at 30900 Rancho Viejo Rd. Ste. 145, San Juan Capistrano CA 92675. You can contact us via email: support@helloloveinc.com
