Why Chi-Town Showdown?
The 1906 World Series was marked by the dramatic rivalry between the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox. The Cubs were the National League champions with an absurdly good 116-36 record… entering as the heavy favorites. But in a plot twist that even the Cubs’ biggest fan wouldn’t have seen coming, the White Sox shocked everyone by winning 4-2. The Cubs bounced back to win the next two World Series titles in 1907 and 1908, only to kick off their legendary 108-year drought of World Series wins… basically, the longest "will they or won't they?" saga in North American sports history.
