Why Do It?Before disco clubs exploded across America, the Hustle was already tearing up dance floors in the Bronx. Producer and songwriter Van McCoy saw the craze firsthand and rushed to write a song inspired by the dance. The result was “The Hustle,” a disco anthem so catchy it shot to No. 1 in 1975, despite it’s lyrics containing only four words.
