Why Holey Moley?
In 1975, the arcade game Mogura Taiji was invented in Japan. Players used a mallet to smack targets popping up at random, creating a game that was simple, frantic, and strangely satisfying. The game translates to “mole extermination” but hit the US market as Whac-A-Mole. It soon became a global arcade staple—and an accidental metaphor for dealing with problems that keep popping back up.
