Why Tired O' Fighting It?
In 1971, the first “Cup Noodle” was marketed by Momofuku Ando, the Japanese founder of Nissin Food Products. You read that correctly: Cup Noodle. It wasn’t until 1972, when it was first introduced to the US that the O was added… becoming known to westerners as “Cup O’ Noodles”. In 1993 the company decided to return to the original moniker, dropping the O. Nearly 30 years later, thanks to social media, they realized there was a lot of conversation about the O, and in 2021 decided they were “tired O' fighting it" and brought back the O for their 50th anniversary.
