Why Sing a Song of No-Pence?
February 15, 1971 is known as Decimal Day in Great Britain. It is the day that the United Kingdom and Ireland decimalised their currencies. Before this date, the British pound sterling was subdivided into 20 shillings, and the shillings were subdivided into 12 pence, meaning one pound was equal to 240 pence. The new decimal system abolished the shilling and traded the pence for the new pence, 100 of which were now equivalent to one pound. Confused? So are we. Certainly this change came as a big relief to cashiers throughout the country!
Due to the special finish of this nail, Sing a Song of No-Pence will be more delicate than other nails in our collection. We do not recommend trimming this nail.
