Why Making Waves? 
The first permanent wave machines, like the one invented by Karl Nessler in 1906, were a bit of a hair-raising experience—literally. These machines looked less like beauty tools and more like a science experiment gone wrong. Imagine a bulky contraption with a tangle of dangling cables and metal cylinders, perched precariously over your hair, as if you were about to be turned into the world’s first human light fixture. Clients would sit underneath this “chandelier” of doom while waiting hours for their hair to curl, all while trying to avoid looking like they were being electrocuted.
