Why For Fudge Sake? 
The hot fudge sundae—an all-time American favorite—was allegedly invented in 1906 by David Strickler, a young pharmacist with a serious sweet tooth. He came up with the genius idea while working at his father’s drugstore in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. At the time, sundaes were all about fruit syrups like cherry or strawberry. But Strickler decided to mix things up by topping his ice cream with hot fudge instead. The result? A warm, gooey contrast to the cold ice cream that was nothing short of magical. The world has been happily spooning through hot fudge sundaes ever since!
