Why Rolling Out?
Talk about government overreach… during WWII, British income taxes hiked to an unbelievable 99.25%. Unfortunately for the wealthy Brits, the reduction after the war ended didn’t help much, with top rates hovering around 90%. These rates were the bane of Britain’s entertainment industry, and in 1971 the Rolling Stones decided they’d had enough and moved to France. The move inspired the name of their next album, now viewed by critics as arguably their best work: Exile on Main Street.
