Why Switch-a-Loo? Montreal went big in 1967 with Expo 67, one of the most celebrated World’s Fairs of the 20th century. Showcasing futuristic architecture, international pavilions, and groundbreaking innovations, it drew millions of visitors from around the globe. But amidst all the excitement, one small detail caused big confusion: the bathroom signs. Due to confusingly redesigned male and female icons, patrons found themselves entering the wrong restrooms all across the Expo.
