Why 19 Cars and Counting?
On February 28, 1971, Evel Knievel set a world record by jumping over 19 cars at the Ontario Motor Speedway in California with his Harley-Davidson XR-750. This record would stand for a whopping 27 years until Bubba Blackwell jumped 20 cars in 1998, also with an XR-750. This wasn’t to be topped until 2015, when Doug Danger surpassed that number with 22 cars, accomplishing this feat on Evel Knievel's actual vintage 1972 Harley-Davidson XR-750.
