Why Holy Kidnappers?
In January of 1971 six people were indicted for a failed kidnapping attempt on Henry Kissinger, the Secretary of State to President Richard Nixon. Seven more co-conspirators weren’t charged. The anti-war activists’ purpose was to disrupt Government operations and to demand as ransom that the Government end the war in Southeast Asia and release all “political prisoners.” Of the 13 alleged plotters, TEN were of the cloth: four Roman Catholic priests, two former priests, and four nuns.
