Why Dead and Don't Know It?
We chose the year 1906 because it was the year Emmy’s Nana was born (possibly… her birth certificate was lost in a fire when she was young and she could never quite remember which year was correct). Nana was Emmy’s beloved Italian great-grandmother who lived through almost an entire century and played a significant role in Emmy’s childhood. She often remarked about all the amazing innovations she witnessed in her 96 (or 97) years… from radio to television to internet, and telegrams to party lines to cordless phones to cellular. She was sassy and silly and snarky and wonderful, and had many funny sayings that the family still uses today. Like the way she felt that getting old was “for the birds” and the way she would describe old and “decrepit” people, complaining that they were “dead and don’t know it”. She would be so proud of Hello Love, an entrepreneur herself (she owned a butcher shop) and a woman who believed that you were never fully dressed without a good manicure. 

Due to the special finish of this nail, Dead and Don't Know It will be more delicate than other nails in our collection. You may experience wear around the edges of the nail, as the finish is printed onto the press-on. We do not recommend trimming or top-coating this nail.
