Why What Are You Wearing Barry?
Remember all those iconic commercial jingles of the 70’s and 80’s that you couldn’t get out of your head? Band-aid’s “I am stuck on a Band-aid and a Band-aid’s stuck on me”, McDonald’s “You Deserve a Break Today”, and the one still being used today - State Farm’s “Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.” But did you know that the person that wrote all of those jingles and many more was Barry Manilow!? When asked about his jingle-writing days, Manilow claimed that he learned the most about making music in the jingle industry, saying “it was the best music college that I’d ever imagined.”
